Five things I learned from being a kid

Five things I learned from being a kid

  1. Christmas is THE BEST THING EVER

Not being able to sleep on Christmas Eve and swearing you heard Rudolph’s hooves on the roof was a yearly thing.  Of course waking up to dozens of presents under the tree never gets old.  Something I will never grow out of is the Christmas spirit.

  1. Nothing lasts forever

Christmas didn’t last forever and neither did play time outside.  It always seemed like the end of the world when your parents told you that play time was over or that it was bed time.  However I have definitely come to learn that it’s a good thing nothing lasts forever.  It makes you realize that the bad times will eventually go away and it definitely has made me appreciate the good times a lot more.

  1. The best way to deal with life is to DEAL with it.

A lot of the time, life isn’t fair.  But at some point in your life you have to realize that crying about it to your mom might help your feelings but it won’t change the unchangeable.  I have learned that sometimes you have to just deal with the bad by having a positive attitude and keep on keeping on.

  1. Parents know everything

From helping with math homework in elementary school to teaching us how to do laundry to giving relationship advice…no matter how much we try to deny it and prove them wrong, they will always be right.  The best part about this is our parent’s will always be our parents and we will always be their kids and they will always know what’s best for us.

  1. Treat others the way you want to be treated

This is the “golden-rule” in grade school and in life.  I have found that kindness, forgiveness, and an all around positive attitude will get you a lot farther than being rude and selfish.
